For obvious reasons, Emma and I didn’t hit up Hawaii on our cross-country adventure. So I figured I’d give it a lil’ love right now. Girl Fest Hawaii fights against violence against women during a week-long extravaganza of art, music, and workshops. In Girl Fest’s own words, their mission is to “change peer culture…through education, entertainment and positive representation of women.” The fest features self-defense classes, surfing lessons, and documentaries, among other things.

The festival runs from Nov. 7th to 14th this year. I know it’s probably too late to get a plane ticket, but in case you live in Oahu, get your ass down there.
